I use CaptivateIQ to track and approve commission payments for the sales department. The product clearly lays out the metrics commissions are tied to and makes it easy to cross-check payments. We also use the product to track progress on sales teams to provide metrics to the rest of the company.

We use this to showcase commisions to be paid out at the end of each month. It gives us a breakdown of all closed business. It provides a layer of transparency and math into how all of that is calculated. It also provides predictions and estimates of total comp before EOM

Captivate IQ is our new streamlined software to have an easy overview or in-depth view of commissions paid out to our sales force. Prior to this, we had all our employees "Hand-calculate" commissions which were subject to human error, and at times took quite a bit of time (was painstaking). In addition, we would have to jump to different parts of our CRM to get everything. While we do still "double-check" Captivate IQ, we now primarily rely on it
. So far it has been 100% accurate for what I look at.

It's very nice as we can directly have it updated by our commissions department, so it can observe in-house special incentive programs, and degrading payouts, and it organizes it into one easy to view website. The ability to make inquiries/argue a particular transaction has been very helpful, as before this email or direct calls used to flood our commissions' team every month.

In terms of setting up special incentive programs, it might be better to have those paid out directly. Sometimes the system needs to be manually updated if for say a special service is sold to a pre-existing company. On our end we have to create "new customers" to reflect these new structures of incentives. It still works on CIQ, but it would be helpful for something on the site to allow us to modify this directly.

mainly used it as a commission statement platform. Easy way to see how much i earned and how. Also made it easy to see how on track I was to quota and my on target earnings. Instead of manually sending it out to the sales reps, we all received it at the same time and was able to accept it with a click of a button.

Sales Compensation. We used to use Excel to calculate commissions but with dozens of commission plans and multitudes of variations of those plans and ramp plans, etc., it just made sense to move to a commission system. We wanted it to pull directly from our CRM and output to our ERP. It's only been a couple of months but there has just been a lot of good feedback and they especially love the commission report that is available to them.

This is way better than having Excel sheets that take a while to complete and having to have constant discussions on what is correct and incorrect. We use CaptivateIQ for our quota-carrying sales rep commission calculations and pay statements. We are processing commission monthly, and implementing Captivate has given us the ability to process pay with accuracy quickly, as well as provide pay statements to our team in a transparent manner. This has solved a plethora of pay friction and eased the time spent on calculations.

Captivate IQ is well-suited for sales teams of any size. Its ability to handle multiple, complex plan management allows for any amount of reps or level of complexity to be built in, allowing any organization to benefit from its automation and platform. We've changed our plans massively each year, and it is able to handle these changes with ease. It does seem as though it pairs better with SFDC. We use Hubspot, and this works okay, but our integration sometimes lags or needs a heavier lift to adjust.

CaptivateIQ serves as the backbone of our sales compensation system. It allows us to create and manage complex compensation plans tailored to our unique sales processes at MaintainX. One of the main benefits is the ability to seamlessly integrate with Salesforce to pull our data into our CaptivateIQ instance, which being able to control and filter the inflow of data via SOQL query, while simultaneously applying formulas at the point of entry, which is crucial to us in our use case.

A good understanding of database structures would also be a big help.

We implemented CaptivateIQ in order to provide greater transparency into commissions and compensation. CaptivateIQ allowed us to migrate off of Excel spreadsheets and manual PDF statements to an automated, dynamic system.

In companies supporting either a larger number of sales employees and/or a variety of commission plan types, CaptivateIQ reduces the complexity and effort of accurately calculating payments.

CIQ is a one-stop shop to house all of our commission plan documentation as well as allows me to build all the logic to automatically calculate commissions each month, track attainment, and build useful reports and dashboards. We have 14 different types of plans spanning 50+ commissionable employees so this tool is a must-have for us.

I use it to see our incentive payout and to see what my team is getting paid. It helps to see what I'm trending towards for quota. I also direct my team to CaptivateIQ to answer any incentive-related questions. I like that it's clear and breaks it down by line item to see all the info related to incentives.

We use CaptivateIQ to calculate and manage commissions for several of our teams including Sales Development, Sales Representatives, Account Management, and related VPs. The platform helps us process large data sets and summarize the results for review by management and payees. Some of the plans utilize direct syncs between our company's data platforms and CaptivateIQ, and some currently use manual uploads.
  • Customer Service - the team assigned to work with us has been great. They are always prompt in getting back to us and helping make updates to existing plans and building new teams.
  • New features - they are constantly implementing new features and process improvements
  • User interface - the platform is easy to use and navigate
  • Pre-processing reporting - it would be great to have some of the reporting features available in a test environment as we work through the data each period
  • Downloads sometimes route you to the "Jobs" page, and sometimes just download--would be great if they always just downloaded
I really like the functionality to build out commission plans for larger and/or more complicated teams/plans. Sometimes we will have an individual on a unique plan--we don't always take the time to build out those one person special plans within CaptivateIQ and just calculate manually.

I process commissions for the GTM org in the company. This is meant to be an alternate method of processing commissions rather than excel.
  • The product interface is great. The statement design is aesthetic to review.
  • I do like how it integrates directly with Salesforce.
  • I do also like the reviewer process that the system provides.
  • The support team are hardly responsive, especially the architects.
  • The commission plans are also very hard to clone year over year and it really requires someone a significant time investment to ensure that the commission plans are set up correctly.
  • I also hate how you cant export all the payrolls at once.
If you have commission plans that have minimal changes year over year, this is a great software. The calculations are accurate and the interface from the user's perspective is very aesthetic. However, my primary concern about this is that if your company re-evaluates its compensation plan each year based on business needs, the commission plans are very difficult and time-consuming to create each year. It requires significant amount of time to implement the plans, and the support team from CaptivateIQ are very slow to respond.

We use CaptivateIQ to manage commission payments. For me as a rep, CapitvateIQ gives me clarity on my payouts and helps me ensure I am paid correctly for business I close. For the business, this reduces the amount of back and forth with finance whenever someone has a question about their commission payout. The main thing here is transparency for both sides

It offers a lot of simple but smart functionality for the individual rep. It also works very well for sales organizations where the commission is based on ARR variance. I am not sure how it would handle organizations with a different commission structure i.e. commission based on retention.

Key use cases for the solution are an increase into visibility into compensation in a timely manner, replacing previous delayed and occasionally difficult to reconcile manual processes across multiple systems, in addition to the upfront inclusion of all stakeholders.

Beyond that, transparency of payments to commissioned employees is a win for the solution so while the product can be tricky to navigate, employees understand that the information they need is available to them

  • Interface appears different on every use which compounds design issues
  • Design of interface has room for improvement in terms of intuitiveness to reduce support overhead
  • Lacks consolidation in reporting - can require multiple clicks to get breakdown of information
For complex and disparate sales orgs it is a solid tool which is useful in being able to create a single self-service portal for all manner of stakeholders without additional burden on compensation staff. Data is easy to see for those who need it and can be accessed indivudually.

Design of the interface could be improved and it can be confusing to understand where to turn on occasions with dead ends frequently but not to the point that I wouldn't recommend the tool overall

We use CaptivateIQ to see our monthly commission, which deals have closed and when they closed. Along with the projection of our monthly quota. The total payout and how much we are getting paid out for each meeting we book. We also use it for reporting to our managers on monthly performance.

CaptivateIQ is used to track sales commission and variable pay. It helps finance and sales properly track each account executives annual recurring revenue attained to date, per quarter, and per month tied to their target sales numbers. You are able to modify individual views in order to fit the needs of the end user and company.

It gives us piece of mind that our commissions are going to be correct. We are able to see if any issues will arise before we get paid. This tool allows me to plan my house budget in advance by letting me know how much I expect in pay a few month from now.

I really enjoy the interface and how it enables me to quickly and easily see what it is that I need to look for regarding payments data from my sales job. I do not need to manually track my comissions and deals against % targets thanks to this easy to use software.

We use this utility to manage and track our commission payouts.

It gives us a nice dashboard to be able to track how many sales we have made and what commission amount is associated with each sale.

There are nice graphical widgets that show how sales contribute to overall quota attainment.

My use case is as a user.
Our organization has been using this tool since I came onboard and I find it very helpful and useful.

Trying to track and calculate all of this information would be a big headache.
  • Detailed analysis of sales and how they break down into various commissions.
  • Widgets that present information in various ways.
  • Simple to navigate home page.
  • Responsive design of payout page so more widgets can live side-by-side.
  • More information presented on home page. Or replace "tasks" widget on home page with something else if there are no tasks.
  • Maybe combine inquiries and reviews into a single page / tab since those appear to be logically related but currently live in separate pages.
Its great for sales teams to break down commissions.

I don't know how well it would work for other use cases. It seems purpose built.

In my current position I use CaptivateIQ for our commission structure on tracking our monthly commission as an individual. This is simple for the Implementation Team here and I am pretty sure our Customer Success Team as well utilize CaptivateIQ for their commission as well.
